About Us

The University of California District was set up by a group of qualified literature professors who have taught in eminent Ivy League schools, such as Princeton, Harvard and Brown universities.

They wanted to provide quality teaching to a wider, less fortunate populous who are often excluded from excelling educational institutions. The result was UniCFD; a teaching establishment that offers unique specialist literary skill programmes. Creating a personalised degree was the main concern for the founding members of the school. Peter Stetson, Dean of the university, said, "I found that students often had a particular interest in specific subject areas; some loved 18th century poetry and others had a passion for modern fiction. The problem was that they couldn't tailor their degree to meet their requirements. That's why UniCFD is revolutionary".

The UniCFD team:

David Howarth has a Phd in French Literature and teaches at Brown University. His interests lie in French Revolution poetry and the impact of European authors on American mentality.

Nell Sampson has a Masters and Phd in contemporary fiction and has written books on the English romantic movement and William Blake.

 

 

Lisa Chester has a Phd and advanced diploma in the science of poetry and rhythm and has taught at Princeton University and Cambridge University in England.
